Digital Photography: Patterns in Nature is the title of our post session class at Life Academy High School, a small public school in Oakland, CA. Each morning we learn about the properties of natural patterns: regularity and irregularity, randomness and order, self-similarity, and fractal dimensions. We then take hikes throughout the Bay Area in order to capture these patterns in their natural habitat using digital cameras.
On the blogs listed below you can see some of our favorite photographs and descriptions of the patterns in them. Note: Some of the students have 2 blogs linked due to technical difficulties on the first. Please enjoy both and be sure to leave comments!
